A native of Chula Vista, CA, Mr. Blossom (“Coach Raymond”) is a graduate of Dakota Wesleyan University (South Dakota) where he received his BA in Communications, with a Minor in Human Services. While attending DWU, Mr. Blossom was also a 3-Time All GPAC Conference Running Back for the Tigers' Football team.
His career in education began at the Glendale Success Academy, an alternative K-8 school, where Mr. Blossom served as an Assistant Teacher. From there, Mr. Blossom continued his work with youth and their families as a Youth and Family Support for Touchstone Health Services before becoming the Supervisor of Touchstone's Health Education Program, reaching up to 2,000 students/participants each year. Mr. Blossom has been able to educate youth and support families in the Glendale and Maryvale Communities since 2011.
Mr. Blossom has been a proud VCA Knight since the school’s opening, and is returning for his fourth year with the same excitement and energy as the first. As VCA’s Dean of Students, Mr. Blossom will continue to support the growth and development of the VCA students as he oversees Social-Emotional Learning and Character Education. In addition, Mr. Blossom’s passion for sports and exercise keeps him involved in VCA’s sports programs as a Coach/Mentor.
When Mr. Blossom is not serving our school and community, his greatest passion and joy is being a father to two wonderful daughters. Mr. Blossom’s ultimate goal is to positively impact students while at VCA, developing their strengths as an individual, and encouraging them to display outstanding character in all that they do. KNIGHTS for LIFE.
